SARS-CoV-2 viral RNA load in Saskatoon’s wastewater dropped by 36.2 per cent in the most recent weekly reading.

The viral load continues to be one hundred per cent Omicron with the majority, almost half, being made up of BA5.

Omicron is also the only strain found in both Prince Albert and North Battleford. Prince Albert is seeing predominantly the BA2 strain while North Battleford is showing just over half is BA5.

North Battleford’s viral RNA in wastewater is virtually unchanged from the week previous with just a slight decrease of 0.5 per cent and COVID-19 in the waste water in Prince Albert decreased by 14.5 per cent.
