Saskatoon RCMP say an officer conducting a welfare check in Viscount on September 26th in response to concern expressed by a family member, ended up going to hospital.
In the RCMP weekly report, they say the officer visited the home then a 911 call that afternoon said a woman had injured an officer with a knife. Additional officers and an ambulance were called, while in the meantime, the responding officer was able to disarm and apprehend the woman.
She then she became unresponsive and when they arrived, EMS administered Naloxone.
The woman was transported to Saskatoon for further medical treatment and has since been released. The officer received treatment at a hospital for minor injuries.
A 28 year old woman from Valleyview, Alberta is charged with assaulting a police officer, assault with a weapon and resisting arrest. The investigation is ongoing.
