The 2022-23 Saskatoon Blades will try to accomplish Tuesday night what only one other edition of the Bridge City Bunch has done!
A victory for the Blue and Gold over visiting Lethbridge would give the Blades four straight wins to open a regular-season. Only the 1975-76 Saskatoon squad can claim to have done that. Saskatoon is 3-0-0, the seventh time in franchise history that a Bridge City Bunch team has started a regular-season with three straight wins. Only the Blue and Gold’s 1975 squad with Bernie Federko, Blair Chapman, etc., started 4-0-0. After sitting out a one-game W-H-L-imposed suspension, highly-regarded 2023 N-H-L Draft prospect defenceman Tanner Molendyk will draw back into the Blades’ line-up. Molendyk’s return means the Saskatoon are expected to ice their strongest-possible line-up for the first time this season against the 1-1-0 Hurricanes. Game time is 7 p.m. for the only game scheduled in the W-H-L Tuesday with CJWW’s broadcast beginning at 6:45.
