A 51-year-old Saskatoon man has been arrested and a number of weapons and ammunition have been seized from an investigation by the Saskatoon Police Service Guns and Gangs Unit.

Police report that around 7 p.m. Wednesday, officers executed a search warrant in connection to a weapons investigation in the 1500 block of Avenue F North. The suspect had been arrested hours earlier on unrelated criminal code warrants following a traffic stop.

Among the items seized from the home are a .22 calibre rifle, a 30-06 calibre rifle, multiple imitation firearms, various rounds of ammunition and several bladed weapons.

Saskatoon Police say the 51-year-old is facing numerous weapons-related charges and was also in breach of a court order prohibiting him from possessing weapons.
