The Saskatchewan Internet Child Exploitation (ICE) Unit has charged 75-year old John Herman Mahler with two counts of Possession of Child Pornography under Section 163.1(4) of the Criminal Code.

The charges were laid following an investigation into activity in an online file sharing program. Members of the ICE Unit executed a search warrant on Wednesday at a residence in North Battleford. It had been identified as the location where offences were occurring. Electronic devices were seized for further forensic analysis.

Mahler has been released from custody on numerous conditions.
