According to the latest report from Statistics Canada, Saskatchewan tops all provinces in year-over-year growth in business construction investment.
According to StatsCan, Saskatchewan saw an increase of 87.1 per cent in August, 2022, investment in building construction numbers compared to that in August, 2021 – tops among the provinces in percentage change.
The August, 2022, value of building construction investment was $491-million. Trade and Export Development Minister Jeremy Harrison says the StatsCan numbers are another indication of Saskatchewan’s economy continuing to grow and that the numbers prove the province is one of the best places in Canada for businesses and workers.
Saskatchewan was also first among the provinces in investment in non-residential construction at $111.4 million in August, 2022, up 34.3 per cent compared to August, 2021.
