A 51-year-old man is dead following a shooting on The Key First Nation in east-central Saskatchewan.
Around 5 a.m. on Sunday, Kamsack R-C-M-P received a report of a firearms discharge at a residence on The Key First Nation and when officers arrived, they found the man injured. He was pronounced deceased shortly thereafter by E-M-S at the scene.
The victim’s name is not being released at this time, but his family has been notified. Saskatchewan R-C-M-P’s Major Crime Unit is leading the investigation, which in conjunction with investigation by the Saskatchewan Coroners Service, has been confirmed as a homicide.
Anyone with information about the man’s death or who noticed anything suspicious in the rural area southeast of the Four Corners intersection on The Key First Nation during the early morning hours of October 23rd is asked to contact the Kamsack R-C-M-P, your local police service or Crime Stoppers.
