Some of the Saskatoon’s waste diversion programs are wrapping up for the season. Subscribers to the Green Cart program are getting a bonus week of collection this year so this week is the final week. November 4th will be the final day. After Friday, the season is finished, and the subscription is done for good as the new city-wide Curbside Organics Program begins next spring.

The final Household Hazardous Waste Drop-off Day for the year is Saturday between 9 am and 3:30 at the Civic Operations Centre on Valley Road.
To date, the program has collected 115,512 kg of hazardous waste.

And, the City’s two compost depots continue through Sunday, November 13th, for any excess yard waste that may not fit in the residential Green Carts.
It’s also your last chance to take home compost and mulch from the West Compost Depot.

The Dig-Your-Own program provides it free to residents. The East and West Compost Depots will re-open next April. In total, more than 44,000 vehicles have gone through the depots. The West Depot processed about 11,200 tonnes of wood into mulch.
