Expect delays at Circle Drive and Avenue C in Saskatoon. City crews have embarked upon what are described as “extensive repairs”.
They have to fix the electronic system which operates the traffic signals. A collision knocked out the traffic cabinet at the southeast corner of Avenue C and Circle Drive.
For most of Wednesday morning the intersection has been a four way stop.
There are now increased traffic restrictions including:
-Circle Drive eastbound and westbound centre lanes are moving through the intersection with no signals or stop signs; median lanes and left turn bays are closed to accommodate construction.
-Avenue C southbound is detoured at Cynthia Street.
-Avenue C northbound is detoured to Idylwyld Drive; access to local businesses south of Circle Drive is open.
-The pedestrian crossing at the intersection is closed.
Essentially Circle Drive turning lanes are closed. The City says while crews are working as quickly as possible it could take several days to restore the signals to fully functioning again.
