Brennan Sonne became the sixth head coach to be part of the nine-game Saskatoon Blades’ losing streak in head-to-head meetings with Everett when the Silvertips downed the Bridge City Bunch 5-3 Friday night.
The 10-5-0 ‘Tips scored the game’s first two goals, leaving the Blue and Gold to attempt to battle back. However, three times the Blades cut the deficit to one goal, only to have Everett regain the two-goal edge. Saskatoon’s three-game, home-ice winning streak came to an end in front of 3,586 fans at SaskTel Centre. Brandon Lisowsky, Trevor Wong and Jordan Keller tallied for the Bridge City Bunch, now 11-4-0 for the season. The five goals against was the first time the Blue and Gold allowed more than three goals in a game this season. The Blades haven’t beaten Everett since 2011. Lorne Molleken, current Silvertips’ associate coach Dave Struch, Bob Woods, Dean Brockman, Mitch Love and Sonne have all lost to the ‘Tips in their nine straight wins over Saskatoon. The Bridge City Bunch are back in action Saturday when they travel to Brandon. First face-off is 6 p.m. with CJWW’s broadcast starting at 5:45. Following is the official game summary courtesy the W-H-L, the audio highlights from CJWW’s broadcast and Post-Game Show interviews with Sonne and Wong…..
