La Ronge RCMP report an arrest was made following a traffic stop on Jimmy Roberts Road in Bell’s Point on Friday, November 4th.

Officers observed cannabis in plain view. A further search also found 67 grams of cocaine, a firearm and a machete in the vehicle.

RCMP would later search a hotel room in La Ronge and seized a loaded handgun, a small amount of pharmaceutical pills and a sum of cash.

Seventy-year-old Jeffery Giest from Creighton is facing multiple charges. He has been remanded in custody until his next appearance in La Ronge Provincial Court on Monday, November 21st.
