The Saskatchewan RCMP reports that a 31-year-old man who had been the subject of a province-wide warrant has been arrested and charged with attempted murder. Officers with the Regina Police Service responded on September 8th to 7th Avenue and Pasqua Street where a 23-year-old woman told them that a man she knew had pointed a gun and shot it at her. She was taken to hospital with injuries consistent with the allegation.
Officers created a perimeter around the house believed to be where the shooting took place, but the suspect had left. On November 2nd, the Saskatchewan RCMP’s Critical Incident Response Team, the Fort Qu’Appelle Detachment, and the Warrant Enforcement and Suppression Team worked in conjunction with the Regina Police Street Gang Unit to make the arrest. Theoren Wendell Pasqua of the Fort Qu’Appelle area was arrested without incident, and along with his charge of attempted murder, he was also arrested on an outstanding warrant for failing to comply with a probation order.
The Saskatchewan RCMP’s Warrant Enforcement and Suppression Team supports the apprehension of high-profile offenders and gang members with outstanding warrants, working throughout the province in partnership with municipal police.
