There was a big trade in the W-H-L Wednesday as 11 assets were dealt between Prince Albert and Seattle (pictured).
The Thunderbirds, who are hopeful of winning the league title and Memorial Cup, acquired 19-year-old defenceman Nolan Allan and unsigned 17-year-old forward Reese Shaw from the Raiders. P-A gets 18-year-old defenceman Easton Kovacs, 18-year-old forward Gabe Ludwig, 17-year-old forward Brayden Dube and six draft picks from the T-Birds, including first round selections in each of 2023 and 2024. Raiders G-M Curtis Hunt talked about the process towards making the block-buster swap…..
Allan is a Davidson product who was a first round pick by Chicago in the 2021 N-H-L Draft. Hunt talked about making the deal now instead of closer to the January 10 trade deadline…..
Hunt also said the Raiders were intrigued by the immediate return they would get in a trade with Seattle for Allan…..
Kovacs, Ludwig and Dube are all expected to be in Prince Albert’s line-up Saturday when they host Medicine Hat.
