The Prince Albert Police Service has an incentive bonus of $25,000 for experienced officers who may want to join their ranks. This is being offered for the first four experienced members selected for hire. Deputy Chief Farica Prince says the officers are already trained and have experience working on Patrol, so they can be quickly deployed to help manage the demands of front-line policing.
Today (Thurs), the Police Service announced recruiting Cst. Kelly Shumay under its experienced officer campaign. He began as a teacher in the Regina area and then was an officer with the Regina Police Service for 19 years. The PAPS has hired 15 new and experienced officers within the last year-and-a-half and continues to recruit officers to its ranks to address vacancies due to growth in the organization, planned retirements and transitions to other agencies.
