The Saskatoon Forestry Farm Park & Zoo has new residents at the zoo. Nuna, Anori and Innequ are Arctic wolves who are three sisters that have come from the Toronto Zoo.

They arrived last week and were being introduced slowly to their new home at the Nutrien Ark.

Zoo Manager Jeff Mitchell says they will be transitioning for the next several days from their indoor space to the outdoor wolf habitat.

The Zoo has undertaken upgrades to the interior portion of the exhibit which includes a new training area that allows zookeepers to work more closely with the wolves.

Automatic heated water bowls were also added, and the wolves can den or climb in order to getter a better view of their space.

The wolves were born in captivity at the Toronto Zoo in what is called a managed species program.  Zoo officials say, in an emailed statement, “These three wolves are valuable members of the genetic population and have been moved to the Saskatoon Forestry Farm Park & Zoo as part of this managed program.”
