Saskatoon Police responded to a report about a man pounding on windows and acting erratically, causing a disturbance at a motel this morning (Tues) around 7 o’clock. When officers arrived at the Thriftlodge, they were alerted he was in the restaurant next door, and he had allegedly assaulted someone. Police report that when officers entered, the man tried to barricade himself in a bathroom, and when they attempted to take him into custody, he began throwing items and kicking them. It is believed he was under the influence of an intoxicant. No one was seriously injured. A 51 year old man from Swift Current is charged with assault, resisting arrest, mischief, and four counts of assaulting a peace officer, along with breach of conditions.
