Around 9 this morning, Rosthern RCMP responded to an apartment building fire on 4th Avenue in that community and found the building engulfed in flames. As of early this afternoon, there is one confirmed fatality so far, and the Saskatchewan Coroners Service will investigate. Wakaw RCMP, local EMS and fire departments from Hague and Rosthern also responded to the blaze.
All residents in the building were escorted to a safe location. Some received medical assistance from EMS.

RCMP say the investigation is ongoing. Police are now asking people to avoid the area as emergency responders work to keep the area safe,
