As we move closer to Christmas it appears Saskatchewan residents might be getting an early present – sliding fuel prices for the month of December. Fuel analysis site gasbuddy.com shows that the average price of regular gas in Saskatchewan is down about 23 cents a litre from last month – with the average fuel price sitting at 1.41 c/L. In Saskatoon the average price is $1.37.9. In Prince Albert, it’s $1.41,9.
The lowest gas price in the province currently is in Lloydminster where the average price for regular gas is $129.9 c/L – a full 11 cents cheaper than the provincial average.
Patrick De Haan, head of petroleum analysis at GasBuddy, says, “Not only has the decline in gasoline prices lasted five straight weeks, with again every province seeing a weekly decline in its average, but average diesel prices have fallen in most provinces as well. The relief is saving Canadians roughly $30 per fill-up compared to six months ago.”
