Regina City Council has approved next year’s budget, which includes a 3.67 per cent mill rate increase. That’s a reduction of one per cent from the proposed rate heading in to budget deliberations. A news release from the City says for the average home valued at $315,000, this will mean an increase of $6.85 a month.
On Wednesday, Council approved the Regina Police Service budget which will add 16 police officers in 2023, along with a psychologist and a physiotherapist. Also included in the budget, beginning in the new year, the City of Regina will implement new programs to improve affordability for low-income households with seniors and persons living with a disability.
