The Saskatoon Police Service says a 19 year old man was taken into custody in an incident where officers deployed a conducted energy weapon (CEW).

Police responded to a report of a suspicious person inside a business located in the 3300 block of 22nd St. West. While trying to arrest the individual, police say he became combative with officers.

As a result, a CEW was deployed and police were able to gain control and placed the suspect under arrest.

The 19-year-old was assessed at the scene by Medavie Health Services, and subsequently transported to police detention. There’s no word on charges.
