There is an extreme cold warning in place for the southern half of the province. It reaches as far north as Lloydminster, The Battlefords, Kindersley, Rosetown and Biggar, Saskatoon and surrounding area but is not impacting as yet Prince Albert.

Environment Canada says extremely cold wind chill values of minus 40 to minus 50 are occurring this morning.

A period of extreme cold values will continue through the week during the overnight and early morning periods.

The extreme cold is expected to moderate by the weekend.
