The Saskatoon Fire Department says there is $20,000 in damage after a garage fire over the lunch hour on Monday.

The call came in at 12:43 p.m. from the 1800 block of Richardson Road. When fire crews arrived to the Westview neighbhourhood they saw smoke showing from a single detached garage.

Utilities were shut down as a safety measure and the fire was brought under control at 1:04 p.m.

The Fire Investigator has determined the blaze started in the engine compartment of the vehicle inside of the garage, but the exact cause is undetermined.

No one was hurt in the fire.
