A man wanted on outstanding warrants from the Saskatoon Police Service and the R-C-M-P has been apprehended by the Saskatoon Police Service Guns and Gangs Unit, with a few more charges tacked on.

At about 2:20 p.m. on December 20, officers saw the 27-year-old man, wanted on outstanding warrants, leave in a taxi from a residence on 33rd Street West. The taxi was followed to the 100 block of 25th Street West where the suspect was confronted by officers as he exited the cab.

He attempted to flee on foot but was taken into custody nearby. A conducted energy weapon was used but did not have effect.  Police say a search of the bag in possession of the suspect at the time of his arrest produced a sawed-off shotgun. The man faces six firearm related charges in addition to the outstanding warrants.
