A first of its kind program in Canada, developed in Saskatchewan, is accepting applications for its use.

The Transportation Rescue Extrication Program (T-R-E-X) provides auto extraction training and equipment for interested fire departments in the province. The Saskatchewan Public Safety Agency (S-P-S-A) is accepting applications for T-R-E-X, which is supported by one-time funding of $5.6 million dollars from S-G-I. The S-P-S-A administers the T-R-E-X program, which was developed in collaboration with the Saskatchewan Volunteer Fire Fighters Association, the Saskatchewan Association of Fire Chiefs and the Provincial Training Standards Committee. The first mass training event by the S-P-S-A for the T-R-E-X program is slated to be held March 31-April 2 in Regina.
