Battlefords RCMP say three people were arrested after a vehicle was stolen from a delivery driver this past Wednesday.
Around 5:30 p.m. Battlefords RCMP received a report of a robbery in the 1400 block of 109th Street where two males had approached a delivery driver parked in a vehicle. They allegedly threated the driver with a firearm and forced them out of the vehicle and stole it. The driver wasn’t hurt.
Later that evening officers from the Battlefords Gang Task Force located the stolen vehicle parked behind a home in the 1200 block of 108th Street in North Battleford.
They saw the vehicle leave and get stuck in the snow in an alley. Officers approached when three males were trying to dig it out but they took off on foot.
Two were arrested after a brief foot chase and the third was located at a nearby home. Police say an illegally-modified firearm was also located and seized in the residence during a search the occupants consented to.
Twenty-one-year-old Marlon Wuttunee from Wilkie, 25-year-old August Nahbexie of Sunchild First Nation in Alberta and 28-year-old Justin Poitras of North Battleford are facing a variety of charges including weapons and robbery.
