There was a safe conclusion after a man barricaded himself inside a building in the northern part of the city early Wednesday afternoon.

Police say the 25-year-old was threatening self-harm and officers were concerned that he may have had a firearm.

The building in the 2000 block of Avenue B North was evacuated. A little more than an hour later around 1:15, the man was taken safely into custody without further incident.

Police report no firearm was located at the scene.
