A Saskatoon woman charged with child abduction in contravention of a custody order, fraud and identity theft has elected to have her case tried by judge alone and has waived her right to a preliminary hearing. Dawn Walker hasn’t yet entered a plea. Her next court appearance is Thursday.
Last July, police began searching for Walker and her seven-year-old son. Her truck and some belongings were found at a park near the South Saskatchewan River. About two weeks later, she and her son were found in Oregon. Walker is also facing charges in the United States in connection to illegal entry into that country.
