S&P Global Ratings is maintaining its ‘AAA’ credit rating for the City of Saskatoon. A news release from the City says the ‘AAA’ rating with a stable outlook has been maintained for 21 years. Chief Financial Officer, Clae Hack, says, “This endorsement by S&P once again confirms the City of Saskatoon’s financial management practices, economy and outlook as one of the strongest in the country.”
One of the reasons for the high rating given in the report from S&P is that the City prepares multiyear operating and capital budgets and long-term capital and borrowing plans which supports fiscal transparency and discipline.
