Saskatoon Police have arrested and charged a 39-year-old La Ronge woman with two counts of assaulting a police officer, dangerous driving, and driving while being pursued by police.

A news release from the Police Service says officers patrolling around 22nd Street West and Avenue H North Thursday night attempted a traffic stop on a vehicle idling in a nearby parking lot. Officers say when the emergency lights were activated, the vehicle rammed the police vehicle before speeding off. A short time later, the vehicle was found in a ditch near Highway 11 and Wanuskewin Road. There were fresh footprints in the snow, and officers found the woman hiding nearby.
