The Saskatoon Police Service Guns and Gangs Unit received a tip that a 21-year old man had a prohibited firearm and was also believed to be selling drugs.

A search warrant was executed at a residence in the 100 block of Avenue K South around 9:30pm on Thursday. About one dozen people were evacuated from the residence, but a 42-year-old man was found hiding inside. He was arrested on outstanding warrants. Meantime, officers located a prohibited firearm and ammunition.

Prior to the search warrant being executed, the 21-year old was arrested during a traffic stop in the 100 block of Avenue U South. Police say there was a can of bear spray and cannabis in the vehicle.

The man is facing four firearm-related offenses as well as a charge of Possession of Cannabis for the Purpose of Selling It.
