There are extreme cold warnings in effect for parts of Saskatchewan again this morning.
Air temperatures in the minus 30-to-35-degree range combined with 10 to 20 km/h winds will produce extreme wind chill values of minus 40 to minus 45 this morning.
In eastern Saskatchewan, extreme wind chill values will moderate today and may be borderline to meet extreme cold criteria tonight.
Areas just east of Saskatoon are impacted including Humboldt, Wynyard, Wadena, Lanigan, Foam Lake – closer to the Manitoba border – Kamsack, Canora, Preeceville, Yorkton, Melville, Esterhazy and then down into the southeast corner of the province as well as north Saskatchewan.
The Saskatoon Extreme Cold Weather Response has been activated to a Level II until February 3. The Saskatoon Fire Department asked that residents keep an eye out for anyone who may need assistance in the cold.
