A 14 year M.P. for Portage-Lisgar in Manitoba and former interim leader of the Conservative Party has resigned her position as M.P. Candice Bergen announced her resignation on Twitter after meeting with the Conservative caucus.
She became the interim leader of the Conservative Party after Erin O’Toole was voted out. Bergen was party leader and leader of the Opposition from February 2nd to September 10th of last year. She stated last September she wasn’t planning to run in the next federal election.
