Meadow Lake RCMP were busy last Friday—with a break and enter as well as an armed robbery.

Late Friday afternoon, officers received a call from a homeowner who heard a noise and found an unknown man inside of the residence. The man fled in a vehicle which was later pulled over at a traffic stop. Officers report finding a wide variety of suspected stolen items including sporting goods, collectables and and electronics. It was later determined the vehicle had been stolen in Edmonton two days earlier.

A 35-year-old man from Cold Lake is charged with break and enter, possession of property obtained by crime, possession of break-in instruments and failing to comply with release order conditions.

Another robbery happened around 9:40pm when a group of men went to a home. One of them pointed a weapon and demanded an item from the occupants. RCMP believe it was not a random incident. The men left in a vehicle that was later located at another residence. RCMP say a firearm was located at the scene and three men were arrested. A search warrant was executed and the stolen item was found. Other weapons were also discovered and seized.

Three men from Meadow Lake—age 22, 25 and 35— are facing several charges.
