Kelly Knapp’s Regina foursome (pictured) has been seeded seventh among the 18 teams in this year’s Tim Horton’s Brier field and placed in Pool A for preliminary round-robin play.
Saskatchewan will take on the previous provincial champions, now representing Manitoba, skipped by Matt Dunstone – the top seeded team in the Canadian Men’s Championship – on March 4 in London, Ontario. The other Pool A teams are Kevin Koe’s Alberta champs, Reid Carruthers’ Wild Card Number 2 foursome from Morris, Manitoba, Tanner Horgan of Northern Ontario, Matthew Manuel of Nova Scotia, Nathan Young of Newfoundland and Labrador, Jamie Koe of the Northwest Territories and Jake Higgs of Nunavut. Brendan Bottcher’s Calgary quartet is the second seed and top-ranked in Pool B with defending champion Brad Gushue in Pool B and seeded third overall. The Brier starts March 3 and winds up March 12.
