A man was safely taken into custody after he barricaded himself inside a house Thursday night on the 200 block of Avenue K South.
Members of the Guns and Gangs Unit were looking for the man on several outstanding warrants. Around 11 o’clock, police received a call reporting a person with a firearm who was threatening self-harm. After several hours of negotiations, the man surrendered to Police. A search warrant was executed with two sawed-off shotguns, ammunition and a small amount of cocaine seized.
A 32-year-old Saskatoon man is facing 19 new charges, in addition to the 15 charges on past warrants. Many are weapon-related.
