For the third time this season, the Saskatoon Blades won a game when trailing after two periods, slipping past the Vancouver Giants 2-1 Saturday night in Langley, B-C.
Jayden Wiens, on the power play, and Conner Roulette (pictured) notched the winning goal with 6:30 left in the third period as the Bridge City Bunch overcame a 1-0 deficit after two periods to finish their B-C Division road trip with a 4-1-0 record. The Blue and Gold lost their first game in Kamloops before reeling off four straight victories. That gives the Blades a 37-13-4 overall record and reduced their Magic Number to clinch an Eastern Conference playoff spot to five points. Saskatoon dominated the final frame, out-shooting the 20-26-6 Giants 17-3 over the final 20 minutes and 33-20 overall. The Bridge City Bunch will play their final 14 regular-season games in Saskatchewan, nine of them at home at SaskTel Centre. The first of those is Friday when they host the arch-rival Prince Albert Raiders.
