Premier Scott Moe is leading a trade and investment mission to India to highlight what Saskatchewan has to offer, including the areas of critical mineral and natural resource development, agriculture, post-secondary education and sustainability.

Moe considers India an important partner for Saskatchewan. The province opened a trade and investment office in New Delhi in March of 2021. The Premier notes that total exports to India last year were valued at $1.4-billion, and more than half of lentils imported into that country are for Saskatchewan.

Moe suggests with a population of more than 1.4 billion people, the opportunity for growth is considerable.

The CEO of Canpotex, Gordon McKenzie, is also going on this mission. McKenzie says they have been reliably supplying India with high-quality Saskatchewan potash for 50 years.

Representatives from Saskatchewan Polytechnic, which has two offices in India, will also be joining the mission.
