A Saskatoon pharmacist is in hot water following an investigation by the Police Service Drug Unit.

Search warrants were conducted on Tuesday at a pharmacy in the 900 Block of Northumberland Avenue, as well as a residence in the 1000 block Schuyler Street and two vehicles.

The warrants were issued after the earlier seizure of more than 700 Oxycodone pills police allege were connected to the pharmacist.

The Drug Unit was assisted by the Saskatchewan College of Pharmacy Professionals in the investigation. An initial review of pharmacy records from September 2022 to January 2023 showed over 24,000 Schedule 1 narcotics were unaccounted for from the pharmacy inventory.

Tuesday’s search warrant seized the following items:  various documentation and pharmacy records, 43 Hydromorphone 18 Contin capsules, 85 Dextroamphetamine capsules, 22 Dilaudid capsules, a coffee grinder covered in white powder residue, labels from pharmaceutical bottles, a 2018 Honda Fit and a bolt action .22 calibre firearm.

The 41-year-old female pharmacist faces several trafficking charges. In addition, a 46-year-old man was also arrested on Tuesday in conjunction with the investigation.
