Around 4:30 Saturday afternoon, Beauval RCMP were alerted about a gun shot at the windows of a home on La Plonge First Nation. Officers were told a white car with a green tarp covering one of the windows drove up to the home and shot a gun at the windows. The home was occupied at the time, but there were no injuries reported.
Officers from Beauval and neighbouring detachments began searching for the vehicle which had been stolen from Prince Albert. It was found abandoned and burned south of Prince Albert later that night.
Police don’t believe this incident is random, however, RCMP say if an elevated risk to community safety is identified, the public will be alerted. Anyone with information is asked to contact the police or Saskatchewan Crime Stoppers.
