The Saskatchewan Municipal Awards celebrate good practices of the province’s municipal governments.

The P4G Planning District which includes the RM of Corman Park, Town of Osler and Cities of Martensville, Saskatoon and Warman, were recognized for Regional Cooperation. The communities work together in a coordinated approach to regional planning preparing the region for growth.

This was the 16th Annual awards and First Place went to the Town of Lumsden for Solar Power. The new infrastructure is aimed at reducing greenhouse gas emissions at four new municipal facilities.

Second Place went to the Town of Biggar for their Biggar Revitalization Project while Third Place was awarded to the RM of Edenwold for their Women in Government Program.

The winners of the 16th Annual Saskatchewan Municipal Awards will be highlighted in ceremonies at the upcoming SARM and SUMA Conventions. SARM’s convention is slated for April 18th at Prairieland Park in Saskatoon while SUMA’s Convention will take place next Tuesday at TCU Place in Saskatoon.
