The 2023 Tim Horton’s Brier, Canadian Men’s Curling Championship, continues today and runs through Sunday in London, Ontario. There are 18 teams taking part, consisting of 14 provincial and territorial titleists, three wild card teams and the defending champion Brad Gushue foursome. The field is split into two pools of nine teams each for preliminary round-robin play. The top three teams advance to the playoffs. Saskatchewan is represented by the Kelly Knapp quartet from Regina. They have 2 wins, 4 losses…good for 6th place in Pool A. On their schedule today…

The U Sports National Track and Field Championships start today and run through Saturday at the Saskatoon Field House. Field events start at 2:30 p.m. with the women’s weight throw followed by all five disciplines in the women’s pentathlon and four of the seven disciplines in the men’s heptathlon. The Grand Entry Opening Ceremonies are at 5:30 p.m., followed by track events beginning at 6:15 p.m. The women’s and men’s 60-metre heats and finals will be held this evening as well as heats in the women’s and men’s 600 metres plus the women’s and men’s four-by-200 metre relay heats. The Saskatchewan Huskies are the hosts with several female and male Huskie athletes taking part.
