Flames could be seen from kilometres away as a massive fire burned through the night at a strip mall in the newer retail area in north Moose Jaw.
Around 8 p.m. Thursday night Moose Jaw Police issued a news release asking the public to stay away from the area.
The Moose Jaw Police Department says fire fighters were still on scene Friday morning putting out hotspots and ensuring the blaze didn’t flare up spreading to the one remaining adjoining business.
The fire consumed the Bulk Barn, and an adjoining Dollar Tree store in the 300 block of Thatcher Drive. No injuries have been reported as yet and the cause has yet to be determined.
Last month, the Moose Jaw Police Service confirmed that two people died in a fire that occurred early morning February 23 in a multi-unit dwelling located in the 200 block of Athabasca Street West.
