A 33-year-old Onion Lake Cree Nation woman has been charged with Concealing the Body of a Child following a report of a sudden death of an infant at an Onion Lake Cree Nation residence back in January of 2022.

Tashia Turner was arrested without incident on March 7 and has been released on an Undertaking, pending an appearance in Lloydminster Provincial Court on April 19. Back on January 5th of last year, Onion Lake R-C-M-P received a report of a sudden death of an infant. Turner was arrested following an investigation and extensive consultation with the Saskatchewan Coroners Service and the Crown – the investigation led by Saskatchewan R-C-M-P Major Crimes with support from the Saskatchewan Coroners Service and the North Battleford R-C-M-P Forensic Identification Section. With the case before the courts, the R-C-M-P is not able to provide further information.
