The Saskatoon Police Serious Assault Unit is investigating a stabbing which happened around 1 in the morning on Thursday. Police responded to the 300 block of 2nd Avenue North, which is between 24th and 25th Street East downtown, and found a 35-year-old suffering from a stab wound.

Officers were told that there had been a verbal exchange prior to the stabbing, but it is unknown if they knew each other. The victim was transported to hospital with what are believed to be non-life-threatening injuries. Anyone who may have information on this incident is asked to contact the police or Crime Stoppers.
