Just before midnight on Friday, Saskatoon Police responded to an assault at a bar near Idylwyld Drive North and 24th Street East. Officers were told a man had threatened a staff member with a knife after being told to leave.

It was reported to police that a short time later, the man returned with three other individuals. The suspect allegedly struck a woman before assaulting a male with a knife.  Patrol officers located a suspect a short time later in the 1100 block of Avenue D North and he was arrested while trying to flee on foot.  Police say officers also seized a knife.

The 34-year-old man who was stabbed was transported to hospital by paramedics with serious, non-life-threatening injuries. The charges for a 29-year-old man include aggravated assault and assault with a weapon.
