Lab tests confirmed 242 new COVID-19 cases in Saskatchewan during the two week period between March 12th and March 25th—with the highest test positivity rates in the Kindersley, Weyburn, Estevan and La Ronge areas.

There were 18 COVID related deaths which was the same total as the previous two week period. Fifteen of the eighteen deaths were in persons 60-years-and-older with the remaining three in the 20-59 age category.

COVID related hospitalizations were also higher at 166—an increase of fifteen from the previous reporting period.

Influenza activity was low around the province with only 11 lab-confirmed cases. There were only 25 RSV (respiratory syncytial virus) cases detected by lab test—well below the 164 recorded in the two week period ending March 11th.
