Saskatoon Police say around 11:00 a.m. on Sunday morning, officers responded to a call in the 100 block of Avenue Y South after receiving a report that a man armed with a weapon was threatening to harm others in the home.

When police arrived, they say the suspect refused to comply with verbal commands of responding officers and, wielding an unknown weapon, made an advance on the police.

A Conducted Energy Weapon was deployed, and a 47-year-old man Saskatoon man has been charged with assault with a weapon and uttering threats to cause death. The weapon turned out to be a screwdriver.
