Saskatoon Police made three arrests in connection with three stolen vehicle investigations last weekend.

The first occurred around 7 o’clock on Friday evening at 36th Street and Idylwyld Drive. Officers attempted a traffic stop—but the vehicle fled at a high rate of speed. A short time later, a 20-year-old man believed to have been driving, was arrested walking near the intersection of Ontario Avenue and 36th Street. A search of the man located keys to the stolen vehicle, which was found later in the 1400 block of Quebec Avenue. The 20-year-old  faces charges of Possession of Stolen Property over $5,000, Dangerous Driving, Evading Police, and Breach of Conditions.

Early Saturday morning at 2:15, police were called to 17th Street West and Avenue J South. Officers again tried to conduct a traffic stop, but the vehicle fled. The driver eventually pulled into a parking lot in the 300 block of Clarence Avenue South. Police surrounded the vehicle, but the driver hit a police cruiser and drove north into an alley. The vehicle was disabled a short distance away and the suspect fled on foot. He was soon confronted in a back yard in the 1300 block of 8th Street, where he further resisted arrest and tried to disarm an officer. After a brief struggle, a 29-year-old man was taken into custody and treated for minor injuries in hospital. He is facing several charges including Assaulting a Police Officer, Attempting to Disarm a Police Officer, Stolen Property over $5,000, Dangerous Driving, Evading Police, and Breach of Conditions.

The last incident happened on Saturday morning 7:30 near 22nd Street and Avenue R. A 32-year-old woman was eventually arrested and charged with possession of stolen property over $5,000 dollars, attempting to use a fake name and identification and Breach of Conditions.
