A 16-year-old North Battleford youth made his first court appearance Thursday following his arrest by members of the North Battleford Gang Task Force on Wednesday.

The unit was on a proactive patrol when they spotted a youth breaching multiple conditions. A subsequent search led to police seizing a prohibited sawed off rifle, ammunition and various gun parts. He was also held on a previous arrest warrant.
