Of the 7,000 Queen Elizabeth the Second’s Platinum Jubilee Medals being handed out in Saskatchewan this year, 28 were presented to members of the Saskatoon Fire Department (S-F-D) Thursday. The ceremony was held at Fire Station Number 1 with the 28 recipients being honoured for their efforts to build a strong, vibrant society and province through their service, contributions and achievements. The medal was created to honour Queen Elizabeth’s service while also honouring significant contributions and achievements made by residents.
